The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA 2009) is here! And it's going to be fantabulous! This year's award show, which will air on September 13, 2009 will be hosted by Russell Brand. And it will feature performances from the biggest music artists, including Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Green Day, Pink, Taylor Swift, Muse, and a lot more!
I'm personally looking forward to the opening number: Janet Jackson will offer a tribute to the life and career of her brother, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Of course the VMA will not be complete without honoring the musical legend.
The usual awards will be given out, including the Best Female Video and Video of the Year. But there are new categories too, including the Best Breakthrough Video and Best Video of the year.
Also catch Twilight's Ashley Greene who will be running the red carpet with MTV's Sway and Tim Kash. The trio will bring you all the happenings outside Radio City Music Hall.
So mark your calendars! The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will start at 8PM ET with the 2009 VMA Preshow, and the main show starts at 9PM ET on MTV.
